Tarpon Springs sits at the top of Pinellas County, between the Gulf and Lake Tarpon, and it is one of the older parts of the county. The yards here range from small historic lots downtown to larger properties out toward the lake, and they do not all want the same treatment.
Most properties are on a regular maintenance schedule. The rest of the work is booked as and when the yard needs it, and it can be added to a scheduled visit while the crew is already there.

The closer a property sits to the water, the more salt spray and salty irrigation the turf takes. St. Augustine tolerates it better than most grasses, which is part of why it is the grass here, but it still wants cutting high so the roots stay deep.
The older streets have big live oaks, and the grass under them is thinner because it is getting a fraction of the light. Cutting shaded turf at the same height as sunny turf is one of the reasons those patches never fill in.
The historic streets have small lots, tight bed lines and mature plantings that need hand work. The newer developments toward Lake Tarpon have open lawns, irrigation and standards to keep to. The visit is not the same on both.
On a shaded lot we cut at the top of the range for the grass and try to keep foot and mower traffic off the thin patches, because turf under a canopy cannot recover from wear the way turf in full sun can.
On an open lot near the water the job is mostly about height and edge discipline: cut high, keep the bed lines and driveway edges sharp, and get the clippings off the hard surfaces before they wash anywhere.
